Custom fields & custom types can be used to customize core-entities in LOGS, which allows admins to extend the standard LOGS entity models by a multitude of customizable fields ( “custom fields” ) to add additional meta data under the alias of a sub entity type ( “custom type” ).

Each custom type can contain multiple custom fields and is bound to a specific LOGS entity-type. The following LOGS entity types can be customized:

• Datasets

• Samples

• Projects

• Persons

• Instruments

Custom types & Custom fields can be created by admins under More > Customization > Custom fields / Custom types.
